There are two versions of LAD. A stand-alone version and a hosted version.

The stand-alone version runs on a PC and requires no internet connection whereas the hosted version does require internet access. The hosted version is recommended where you have fast, reliable internet access.

The stand-alone version of LAD is a web based application which runs on your own PC or notebook. Microsoft IIS (included with Windows Vista Home Premium, not basic) and Microsoft SQL Server Express 2008, are the engines behind LAD. No other software is required to run LAD on either the LAD server or any client PCs.

We try to make the introduction of LAD as easy as possible for the centre. To achieve this the LAD application is supplied on a Dell notebook, fully installed, setup and ready to go for your centre. The notebook will be purchased by WichIT and invoiced to the centre at cost. 

LAD is priced on a per athlete basis for initial licensing and setup. Where possible, we can also migrate any registration and result data you may have in an existing system. An annual maintenance fee is charged for continued support and upgrades.

Should you wish to employ client PCs at your centre so that you can have multiple simultaneous data entry points at your centre, you will need to source a Wireless Access point and set it up for access by your LAD master PC and the clients. This is usually the tricky bit. So again we try to make life easy by offering the inclusion of a wireless access point with your LAD kit. In this case the AP and the LAD Master PC will be setup and ready to go. You will need to set up any client PCs, but the instructions and settings will be supplied. Note that client PCs will require a wireless card! Client PCs require no software except for a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
